The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is applicable since 25 May 2018 states that, amongst other things, public authorities and public bodies must appoint a data protection officer.
The University of Vienna has now appointed a Data Protection Officer as well as a deputy for these responsibilities. Both legal advisors have been assisting the University of Vienna with implementing the GDPR for many months.
Through their consulting activities, they already have comprehensive knowledge about the University of Vienna, its organisational structure and its demands.
This appointment has been valid since 2 May 2018.
